TIERNEY: As our family started to grow, the husband and I made the decision to actively promote a family culture. We knew we wanted to make demands of ourselves and our kids that were far beyond current cultural norms as far as morals, sacrifice, service, obedience, etc. But we realized that JUST expectations and demands were an incomplete picture of what Catholicism really is. ​This book is fantastic and I 100% recommend it! It is worth the price even if you never plan to make a liturgically appropriate meal ever. I have learned so much about the church and the liturgical year, not to mention the stories of so many wonderful saints. I can't recommend this book enough.

​I love how this book is allowing us to live our faith more intentionally and to create precious memories with our 4 little ones .

​At this point in the year, this was the best nonfiction book that I read! It was informative and entertaining. I felt like I was having a conversation with the author as she was going through the liturgical year.

​I purposefully read this book over the course of a year so I could soak up all of Kendra’s teachings and suggestions in “real time”, starting with the New Year of our Catholic faith, Advent. Even though I am a cradle Catholic (born into the faith), there were many things I learned while reading this compendium. But most importantly, it inspired me to “bring the faith home” in our daily lives as a family.

​For the first time, this summer Thomas Aquinas College’s High School Great Books program will be offered in two locations — at the College’s California campus, just 70 miles north of Los Angeles, and at its new campus in Massachusetts, 100 miles west of Boston.
For two weeks at each location, rising high school seniors from around the country and abroad will delight in spirited conversation, engaging firsthand some of the best works of the past 2,500 years. They will read and discuss texts selected from the masters of the Western intellectual tradition, including Plato, Euclid, Shakespeare, Pascal, and St. Thomas Aquinas. Although the different venues will feature attractions and outings particular to their locales, both will be centered around the College’s unique program of Catholic liberal education.
Whether on the West Coast or East, the High School Summer Program is a time for forging new friendships, for enjoying the give and take of rational argument, and for pursuing the truth, which civilizes, ennobles, and liberates.
