The Charlotte Mason method is based on Charlotte's firm belief that the child is a person and we must educate that whole person, not just his mind.   If you would like to learn more about her "living methods" we recommend you prioritize attending Jennifer Mackintosh's workshops while you're at the Conference.

11 a.m. Saturday: A Living Education with Charlotte Mason
This workshop will introduce Charlotte Mason’s educational philosophy, describe the cornerstones of a Charlotte Mason education, discuss how this might look in the home, and talk about how a living education with classical principles imbues a love of learning! Included in the workshop:
  • A Considered Booklist – a resource listing and step by step guide for building your own yearly booklist
  • Scheduling Books and Pages – a guide to assist in knowing how many pages of reading Charlotte Mason assigned in her Programmes of work which in turn helps the home educating mom know how many pages of reading to assign for a given child:  in the year, for the term, for the week, and for the day.
  • Charlotte Mason – books for learning more – helps for learning more about her philosophy and methods of education
  • Charlotte Mason’s 20 Principles of Education – taken directly from her 6 volume work

3 p.m. Saturday: The Morning Basket - Ageless & Inspiring
Jennifer embraced the idea of a Morning Basket almost 12 years ago – before it was popular or even had a name! The Morning Basket is a collection of inspiring books and things that is ageless in its offerings, span abilities, speak to loveliness, and give the day an inspiring start. In this workshop, you will learn the four essential things that will streamline your day and rebuild culture through the Morning Basket, brainstorm about how to build your own Morning Basket, learn how to implement Morning Basket with kids from high school to preschool, and talk about some common challenges you may encounter in Morning Basket time.
